BFA THEATER Presents...
Addams Family House
The play is underway with shows on 
Friday evening at 7 pm and two shows on 
Saturday at 1 pm and 7 pm!

Winter Coat Drive

Turkey Drive
Rotary and Rotary Interact are supporting the SLAM THE VAN event this Sunday (11/20) from 11:30am-12:30pm at St. Paul's Methodist Church, 11 Church Street, St. Albans, Vermont.   All turkeys will be distributed by our local food shelf, Northwest Family Foods (5 Lemnah Drive).  Traditionally this event yields around 60 turkeys, we need to triple that number this year due to need. Please contact Stephanie Hodgeman if you want to make a donation and can't make the drop-off.

Jay Peak Season Passes
REDUCED PRICE PASSES AND DAILY TICKETS
BFA will be a part of the Founder's Program again at Jay Peak. They are offering discounted daily tickets for students at $50 a day and also discounted season passes. Please see the rates below.  There will be a raffle for season passes at BFA. Students have been sent an application to their school emails on 11/17. Please see that email for eligibility guidelines.

Congratulations!
NCTC students traveled this weekend to the Cosmetology in Action Hair Show and competed in the Fantasy and Classic competitions. Congratulations to the following winners: 
Macie Boudreau took 1st Place in Fantasy
Gabby Depot took 2nd Place in Classic
Ella Reynolds took 3rd Place in Classic


Citizen Science in Physics
Physics students completed a Citizen Science Data Classification for their first Quarterly Project. Using the platform Zooniverse.org, students select a project to help scientists in their efforts to draw scientific conclusions.

Projects ranged from looking at Rhesus macaque blood samples with the University of North Carolina to projects about wildlife activity in Wisconsin to help the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to helping NASA learn more about Asteroids. As a whole, the Physics students classified more than
11,000 pieces of data.

Career Connections Presentations
with Husky-Injection Molding

On Wednesday, November 16th, DURING ENRICHMENT, BFA and NCTC will be hosting a career connections presentation with Husky Technologies. During the presentation representatives from the company will discuss job types in the organization, typical responsibilities of the different job types, and what makes a good job candidate/employee. They will also cover what kind of opportunities are available for high school students, recent graduates, as well as individuals who have experience in the field. If you are interested in ENGINEERING, ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, or jobs in the SKILLED TRADES please attend! St. Albans Messenger recognizes cross country runners, senior Laren-Kate Garceau and junior Ruby Dasaro, who led the girls' team at the 2022 Meet of Champions on Nov. 5!

Congratulations to seniors Lindsey LaBelle and Jayden Walent who were selected by the Vermont Youth Volleyball Association (VYVA) to represent the state at the Senior Showcase against neighboring New Hampshire. The girls match is set for Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at Plymouth State College.

November 2022 Winter Coat Drive

It is time for our annual COAT DRIVE. Please consider donating gently used coats, hats, mittens, and children's winter boots to Rotary Interact's annual coat drive. Donation bins may be found at BFA, Hannafords, Collins Pearly, Co-op, and People's Trust Company.


Financial Literacy Fair 
BFA Gym - Nov 9th
Thank you Rotary Club of St. Albans for organizing the Financial Literacy Program. The number of volunteers really benefited the students by authentically learning business skills they can use in today's career fields.
