CONGRATS BFA CLASS OF 2021!!

Final Report Cards
are now available on PowerSchool
Our COVID-hybrid schedule allowed for twice the amount of time per class period. That means a class that was traditionally a year-long was completed in one semester. A class that is traditionally a semester-long was completed in one quarter.
A quarter-long class equals .5 credit and a semester-long class equals 1 credit.

You must use an internet browser to access your Report Card. The PowerSchool Mobile App does not provide published report cards at this time.

CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO TO LEARN HOW TO ACCESS YOUR REPORT CARD ON POWERSCHOOL.

Several of the Digital Media Program students finished editing their animation projects and a promo video for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.  All these recent videos are very short (under 3 minutes each). A nice mix of animation and motion graphics... worth a quick look to hopefully end the school year with a smile.

Saturday PromFire 2021:

Light and warmth of gathered souls
Underneath bellowing and brooding clouds storm blue
That was the atmosphere of their year
So thick that breathing was a threat
And the few smiles were veiled in shrouds of cloth.
Yet now this!
A reuniting!
A color of contrast this tent of revelry if not revival
Of friendships
A class divided by the calculation of Last names
Now shouting out in comfort, each other's first names
Shouting names between hugs, dancing, laughter, tears
Looming and ominous clouds be gone
You don't have a chance of breaking these young spirits
Truth is
You never did
For this tent of revival
"Holds the brilliance soon to be unleashed
On a world not always sunny"
A senior class of 2021
Made of resolute resilience
And
Un-extinguishable light.

Athletic Awards Night:

Any student who earned a Varsity Letter at any time during their four years of high school at BFA is eligible to come to the Athletic Awards Night this Sunday, June 6th at 5:00 pm in the BFA Gym.

Two emails have been sent out to all the eligible senior athletes via their PowerSchool listed email address.

This email is being sent to help clarify any confusion which may still exist.

Because of the lingering effects of COVID, the school is not allowed to serve a meal for this event as in the past. At this time, we can only allow the students and coaches into the BFA Gym for the presentation.

As a result of these restrictions, the awards event will be streamed live on the following link:

If your son/daughter has not already done so, please confirm their attendance on Sunday by emailing Mr. Marlow at: dmarlow@maplerun.org.

We look forward to seeing all of the seniors on Sunday night.

Thanks, Mr. Marlow

Senior Week:

Unified Theater Performance on June 3rd:

What is Unified Theater?

This is the first year that BFA has offered a Unified Theatre Class.  Unified Theatre is co-taught by Susan Palmer, BFA Theatre teacher/director, and Kasia Bilodeau, BFA Integrationist.  The class combines students with learning differences and employs student mentors who, with support, plan and lead lessons.  On Thursday morning students presented their original fairytale to the preschool students at NCTC.  Many of the students involved had not been in a play before and the preschool students had not seen a play.  It was an exciting and fun experience for all!

Music News:

On May 27, 2021, BFA Chorus met at the First Congregational Church in St. Albans for the first time in over 14 months to rehearse and perform together since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Special Thanks to the First Congregational Church, Reverend Jessica Moore, and Music Director Erin Grainger for their hospitality in allowing BFA Chorus to use this incredibly beautiful church in the sharing of our music for all to enjoy.
