Since Rusty Charpentier’s arrival in our district just a few years ago we have gone from a string program in the single digits to roughly 80 students across the district playing instruments that include the violin, viola, cello, and string bass.
What was feared to be a rained-out show turned into a lovely evening for an outside concert. The clouds parted, parents set up their camp chairs and all were serenaded for nearly an hour with lovely string music. Stay tuned - there is much more to come this year!
The first picture is the yearbook photo for the BFA String Ensemble, the second is a shot from the concert.

This Tony Award-Winning Musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella", as well as several others. Driven by different desires, such as attending the ball, having a child, meeting a prince, or getting to granny's house, each character is called to the woods where they meet forces that cause them to change. An allegory for growing up, the audience is asked to question the simplicity of childhood and the reality of our quest for "happily ever after". With beautiful music and a lovely dose of both heart and humor, this show is sure to entertain and inspire. MASKS REQUIRED inside the building at ALL SHOWS!
