Welcome Principal Rico!!

Summer 2023
Academy Breakout Sessions and
Recovery Classes

We just wrapped up a successful third year of summer programming, with close to 90 students participating.  32 students were able to recover credit in one or more classes that they failed during the 22-23 school year. Nine, one-week classes were offered. Each of these students made the choice to give up a week or two of their summer break to earn back credit so they are in better shape this year. Congratulations to them for making this choice!

56 students took advantage of our breakout activities and workshops. We had week-long SAT Prep and College Essay Writing classes, a trip to the Justice and Poetry event in Burlington, 6 different Art and the Outdoors activities, an 8-day Digital Media Smorgasbord, and a week-long baking class. Pictures and details of some of the activities are included below.

A huge thank you to all of the teachers who worked this summer to make these opportunities available to our students!!

What a beautiful day on July 20th for planting by the lake and making macrame and embroidery floss hangers for our newly potted plants!

Summer Cooking Class
Summer cooking class made cupcakes, cake pops, pizza rolls, and cakes. Here are some photos of just a few of the beautiful cakes they made!

Pesto Pasta and Ice Cream!

Here are pics from our last two breakouts from the last week of July. Homemade pasta and pesto…yum!  The rain didn’t stop us from blueberry picking! We got drenched and rewarded ourselves with a rainy day hangout while our fresh blueberry ice cream churned.
