I wanted to take this opportunity to give some Thank You’s.
I want to start by thanking all of the students for their continued effort and for making BFA a vibrant environment. Between time changes and a long academic calendar, I thank you all for showing up, providing school spirit, and engaging in the learning process. Without you, my job would be all work and no fun.
I would like to thank our community for attending our events such as Fine Arts Night, BFA Experience, Athletic Events, Theatre performances, etc. BFA is a better place when we all come together to support the work and effort of students. If you have not had the opportunity to attend, I know life gets busy, so please reach out and let us know how we can offer events that work for more people to attend.
Thank you parents/guardians for your support and effort to make sure our students are safe. As I communicated in November, Vape Detectors were installed on 11/11/24. To date, we have had a 91% reduction in vape use. I am overwhelmed by the positive support we have had from families in helping us deal with this crisis. Thank you!
I would like to thank our staff. Seeing the participation in Spirit Week and their continued effort in the classroom and beyond gives me an overwhelming sense of pride. I am reminded every day that BFA is lucky to have such a dedicated group of people.
I am beyond proud to be a part of the BFA community, and I am reminded that when we work together, success follows. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable winter season.

Fine Arts Night was an unforgettable celebration of creativity and talent! It was an evening filled with artistic excellence, from theater and dance to orchestra, band, and chorus performances. The hallways of BFA came alive with stunning photographs and art displays in various mediums as attendees wandered between venues—the Performing Arts Center, Gym, and Connector. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, performed, and worked behind the scenes to make the night possible. Your hard work, dedication, and passion for the arts shone brightly. We are so proud of our amazing students and grateful for the support of our community. Thank you for joining us! 
The recent BFA Fine Arts night was a great show! I had the opportunity to lead a choral workshop for vocalists from SATEC and City School. Also conducted the opening of the Vivaldi Gloria with BFA Chorus and Strings. Many thanks to all the wonderful colleagues from the Arts Department at BFA! Special shoutout to Eric Bushey and Alex Rusty Charpentier for preparing the String Ensemble. Chris Leduc is a fabulous accompanist/musician and always a pleasure to with. It was amazing to see Katelynn Maher conduct the BFA-SATEC-CITY school choral ensemble. She is a BFA Music alumn and the current Music teacher at City School. Maple Run Unified School District was well represented at the BFA Fine Arts Night. Thanks to Aram Barsumian grabbing some footage of the evening!

congratulations 2025 New England Music Festival Acceptance
Congratulations to the following BFA students who successfully auditioned at the recent New England Music Festival Solo and Concert Festival on December 7, 2024. Based on their adjudicated performance ratings, these students will travel to Middletown, Connecticut, to participate in the prestigious 98th Annual New England Music Concert Festival from March 13-15, 2025. We are thrilled and proud to have our students perform alongside the finest student musicians in New England!

Unified Theater students shined during their school-wide performance of The Slippery Slope of the Missing Slipper! The turnout was incredible, and the audience was full of energy and support. After six weeks of dedication and creativity, these amazing students - featuring members of the Community Integration Program (CIP) and peer mentors from Northwest Career & Technical Center’s Human Services Program are ready to share their original, 25-minute play.

It was so much more than just a performance - it was a collaboration of students that was just beautiful and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t moved to tears. Last Tuesday we invited 8th grade students and their families from 9 different middle schools to walk the halls of the BFA campus and learn about all the great opportunities offered to our students! Approximately 170 families got to chat with our staff about academic and elective programs, athletic and extracurricular offerings, support services, access to NCTC, and community partners like the Collins Perley Sports Complex. We can't wait to work with these students next school year!
