We Are BFA!
WHY STANDARDIZED TESTING!?
Each year the state requires that all students in grades 3-9 take English and Math tests; and students in grades 5, 8, and 11 take a science test. This year students are taking the COGNIA test, which is replacing the SBAC. Standardized testing offers insight into BFA's teaching and learning compared to other schools in the area, state, and in the nation. Data helps teachers inform their teaching and helps the district make curricular and programming decisions to ensure that Maple Run Unified School District students are receiving the best education. BFA’s Multi-Tier Systems of Support team can use the data to ensure appropriate supports are in place for students. Students will be doing some activities to prepare for the tests during Advisory and Enrichment in April. Take the testing seriously. Do your best! Show what you know and what you can do!
Testing will occur in advisory groups.
See the schedule below for specifics.

MAY 2, 3, 9, 10 Bussing
- There will be two bus runs on 9th-grade testing days.
- The first bus run will be the normal morning route which will pick up 9th-grade students and any AP testing students who need transportation.
- The second run will provide transportation for everyone else arriving at BFA on this BUS SCHEDULE.
MAY 11, 12 Bussing
- In the past, we have had little or no need for early bussing to the 11th-grade testing days due to students finding their own transportation. Rather than automatically sending buses that may not have any riders, please fill out this FORM so we can arrange appropriate transportation.
- Buses will pick up everyone else to get to school by 10:00 on this BUS SCHEDULE.
MAY 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12 Arrival Time
- Students not testing should arrive at school no earlier than 9:45 am for class on testing days.
- ALL students 9-12 are expected in class starting at 10:10 am.
