Latin Day
On Monday, February 6, 2023, eager Latin 1 students attended Vermont Latin Day at UVM with Mrs. Batten. This is the first in-person Latin Day since February 2020! This year marked the 45th Latin Day event at UVM, sponsored by the UVM Classics Department along with the Vermont Classical Languages Association (VCLA), a group of dedicated Latin teachers from Vermont. The event was held at the Davis Center on the top floor (Maple Grand Ballroom) and spread out to various rooms for events such as Quizzes, Ancient Gaming, Recitation, Military 'testudo' formation, outdoor Olympica events, skits, walking tours of campus and even to the Library to view antique Latin texts in their Special Collections.

Everyone had something exciting to do and/or watch throughout the day. Afterwards, students enjoyed a frenetic lunch at Al's French Frys and then it was back to BFA! When we returned to school, we had a great time talking about the many activities and events and speculating about what could possibly take place next year.

In the photos: Shakia Ludlam and Owen Scott; Nelson LaBombard, Oli Newhall, Robbie Gilding; Jacoby Soter, Marie Desorgher, Elea Demore; and there's Robbie decked out in his Roman toga!
