International Club Information

The International Club is a student-driven organization that meets twice a week. The goal of the club is to meet and discuss the culture, language, and history of different countries. The members decide on the format of the meetings and what to study. One year the members took turns creating slideshows on different countries and presented them to the club. Another year we explored music and films from around the world. This year the club has taken a different approach and decided to focus on a different country at each meeting and try food from that country. We make or buy food from that country and use that as a starting point for our discussion. Some of the countries studied this year include Switzerland, Tanzania, Israel, and Columbia. We also spend time discussing travel, music, films, the study of foreign languages, and opportunities to take language classes and study abroad. All students are invited to join the club, even students who are not taking a World Language. Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 30th in room A217.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to make you aware of a free suicide prevention training sponsored by the Afterglow Foundation in partnership with NCSS being offered Tuesday, May 23rd from 5:00-7:00 at the Hard’ack Lodge in St Albans.

This suicide prevention training is focused on teaching adults how to talk to kids about suicide. We will provide parents and trusted adults with the skills to proactively discuss suicide with a young person as well as learn skills to keep a youth who is suicidal safe. This training is intended for parents, caregivers, coaches, and educators, or any adult who wants to learn skills related to suicide prevention.
