Graphic Arts Class
Graphic Arts students showing t-shirts they designed and made in class. The artwork was created in Adobe Illustrator, which was then printed onto heat transfer vinyl and pressed onto the shirts using a flatbed heating unit. Laken Poston created his own dragon and Destiny Smith made a "Cowgirl Auntie" shirt.

Environmental Science and Outdoor Leadership Class
Environmental Science and Outdoor Leadership students from Mr. Brown, Mr. Corrigan, and Mrs. Magnan's classes partnered with the Franklin County Conservation District to collect data at a Habitat Restoration site in Fairfield. The purpose of the trip was to monitor the 150 planted trees for survivorship and to document biodiversity on land and in the water. The students are pictured learning about soils and also collecting and identifying macroinvertebrates from the Creek. The long-term goal of the project is to monitor the impacts the tree planting has on biodiversity and stream health as the trees mature.

BFA/LCC Stormwater Reduction Project
"Students in environmental science and outdoor tech are getting their hands dirty right on campus with stormwater reduction! Stormwater runoff carries pollutants that it collects from impervious surfaces like parking lots and roofs to our waterways. Thanks in part to funding from the Lake Champlain Basin Program and NEIWPCC, the Lake Champlain Committee (LCC) has partnered with Mr. Brown, Mr. Plimpton, and Ms. Schlutius to implement changes to the landscape next to the connector that will help slow down, spread out, and soak up stormwater so it has the chance to percolate rather than become runoff. We built infiltration trenches full of stone along the sides of the connector that will catch stormwater from the roof. We are also planting native flowers and shrubs along the connector that will soak up stormwater and stabilize soils for better infiltration. This will have a direct impact on the water quality of Steven's Brook and ultimately Lake Champlain, and LCC is so grateful for the help of all those involved! To learn more about the project or about stormwater reduction, reach out to Eileen from LCC at Eileenf@lakechamplaincommittee.org."
